Whiskey Paintings are miniature watercolor paintings created by a lifetime "bonafide" member of the Whiskey Painters of America (WPA).

The WPA is the most unique and exclusive miniature painting society in the world. Formed in the late 1950s, membership is limited to 150 members worldwide. To become a member, an artist must be sponsored by an existing member, then be juried in by a panel of existing WPA members. A genuine Whiskey Painting consists of  a miniature watermedia work of art no larger than 4" x 5" painted with brushes dipped in some form of alcoholic spirits (then possibly sipping the alcohol, thereby enhancing the painting experience).

Whiskey Paintings have been exhibited in numerous national shows across the country. At this time, the WPA has 2 annual shows—one in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and the other in Augusta, Georgia. Other shows have been held in commercial galleries and art museums across the U.S. Whiskey Paintings generally sell for a minimum of $75 and can range as high as $1500, with an average price typically between $150 and $300.

In May 2015, I was honored with a lifetime "Bonafide" Whiskey Painters of America signature membership. The paintings displayed in this gallery are original watercolor paintings created with vodka in lieu of water to mix and apply the paint and meet the strict size requirements of the WPA guidelines. Each painting is custom framed using archival materials and shipped free to all U.S. addresses.

As of March 2023, all of my Whiskey Paintings are created using Sterling Vodka, imported from Great Britain.
